The second stage of employment is taking an interview with the
potential employer. After applying for a job vacancy by sending your
application or motivation letter plus Resume, the employer does a review of the
applicant resumes and application. You may be viewed as the best candidate for
the vacant position.
Most of the employers get your application, resume or
motivation letter either from your direct submission, online application from
websites or referrals from recruitment agency or a friend referred to you after
a job vacancy has been placed on the job board’s or newspapers.
The employer or the recruiting agency looks at the resume
manually or electronically. Your resume must make a good impression to the employer
to be selected for the job interview. For manually reviewed resumes it must be
well grammatically written. Manual resume
reviews only takes 30 seconds. Likewise the machine resumes reviews. To have high
chances of being selected for the job interview it is good always to have your
resume well written. It should contain the major terminologies applied in the
job application for it to easily recognize your resume.
In the interview, the employer would want to know more about
you. Since, the resume was so brief about you, the employer may take the chance
to learn and know your level of skills, expertise and the related experience that
you by asking you job interview questions.
The likely question that you are going to face in the job
interview may surround the experiences, lessons learned , leadership experience
and the accomplishment that you have made in your previous employment. The questions
will target how you managed specific situation in the company, your relation
with other workmates, the work challenges that you have faced in your line of
duties and how you managed to solve those situations.
Secondly, the other important part of the job interview is
the questions relating your relationship with family members and coworkers. This
question gives the employer a clue with the person that they are employing. His
character and relationship with people with others and how the work pressure affects
his interaction with people.
The recruiting company will ask also ask you about career
objectives at the company. Your long term plans. This will show the employer
how you will be committed to the company core objectives and goals. How you are
going to benefit the company as their employer.
In the interview, your will also be asked to mention your
expected salary. It is good not to mention too high salary or too low. Even
though the salary is open for negotiation, the employer wants to know your
motive there.
The interviewer always gives chances for the candidate to
answer theses interview questions. There is no good answer for those interview
questions but your answer must align to the job position and the related experience
that you have to answer them well.
