IT Job Search Tips

The major source of I.T. jobs is the internet or job websites.

There are very many websites that advertise job vacancies. The important requirement of a good search result is to know where you can get the potential job that you are seeking for.

To be able to have connection to certain job sites and it job vacancies listing, you must have the following:

1. You must sign up at a job listing site

2. Confirm the email registration confirmation. Usually job alerts are sent to your email.

3. You must fill your account profile on the selected job site. Fill the personal details form that is provided under the profile and activate the job alerts.

This will help you match the I.T jobs that are advertised with your skills and expertise that you have filled in the account. Fill as much as possible the field of specialization.  Most of the sites match those skills with your details in the account and provide you with alerts to apply a job that best fits your career for area of specialization of  person.

4. When filling the form, you must not forget to fill if the you want is permanent, part time, full time and contractual or temporary job. You must choose the job category that you want.

5. If the job that you want is not advertised what you can do is that you can post your CV on the site for the recruiter or employer to be updated of it or see the best CV  that qualifies for the job vacancies they are advertising. This will help them easily access your Resume.

To be successful in this internet I.T job search you must have the following put in place:


1.       Well oriented career portfolio in soft and hard copies. Most of the employers require soft copy of the CV but other prefers it having posted to them as hard copy. Try to email both your CV and your motivation letter when applying a job even on the internet.
2.       Be decided of the preferred location of work. If you are willing to work away from home or from your locality, you must be decided before you apply the work.
3.        Salary.
4.       Prioritize the above items.
5.       Search jobs on various web sites for IT job vacancies.
6.       Register as many job sites as you can.

7.       Submit resume your on timely basis.
