The following is a sample interview question the employer can ask you during the interview. Majorly, these questions assess the skills and experience of the job candidate. They evaluate the management competence and leadership skills that you have. The question can be applied to both management and supervisory position interviews. Many hiring companies may approach the same question in different ways but be prepared to answer the job interview questions.

The supervisory or management position interview question and answer may also compose common interview question and tough interview questions. The question that you may be asked can also be behavioral interview question that may require you to use the STAR method of interview answering method. This where you have to give an example of a situation, the action that you have taken and what was the results of that action.

Be very creative and fast thinker to give a successful situation example. If you unfortunately happen to mention a failed project situation give out the lesson learned from the project. Failed examples you give can also be changed into lesson learned.

The management and supervisory question that you may be asked include:

What kind of supervision of other workers have you been responsible for? 

Hints: give an example of project worker that you have supervised and what was the role you played in the projects. “My work was to maintaining a close coordination of the work of field worker of hygiene Promoter in Norwegian Refugee Council sanitation project; identify the problem faced by the field workers, providing resources and solutions. I was did performance evaluation of each employee on weekly basis of the number of houses reached. I also provided feedback on their performance and shared target information with the field workers.

How many years of experience do you have as supervisor?

Hint: the best way to answer this interview question is that you have the name, the title of any management or supervisory position and number of year you worked in each position. Lastly conclude approximation of how many years in total that can be.

What experience do you have in mentoring employees? 

Hint: mention the role you played in mentoring and what you did.

What were your duties and responsibilities as supervisor?

How many employees were directly under your control and supervision?

How did you sue to motivate your employees?

Give an example of situation where of your employees is under performing and what did you do to improve his performance?

Describe a situation where you have formed a better relationship with your employees or your workmates.

Which one do you prefer between team work and working alone?
